Family violence is a problem in the NWT, across Canada, and around the world. The sad and stark reality is that the rate of police-reported family violence in the NWT is the second highest in the country, second only to Nunavut.
We believe we all have a role to play in addressing, reducing and ultimately, ending family violence. Join us as we launch the NWT’s Family Violence Awareness Week.
When: 3 to 5 pm, Sunday, October 21
Where: Northern United Place Auditorium
What: Create a shirt: decorate it with messages and illustrations to create awareness, share your message, and show your support for those who have or are experiencing family violence.
T-shirts and markers will be provided, as will light refreshments.
